Early Detection Saves Lives
Colorectal cancer (CRC) s the number one cause of cancer deaths for people under 50. Late-stage diagnoses are terribly lethal, with a average survival rate of 14%. Early detection, however, increases that average survival rate to more than 90%. Since the early 2020s, the recommended starting age for CRC screenings has dropped from 50 to 45 for patients with no previous history of the disease, but is there a benefit to lowering the age further, or otherwise expanding CRC screening benefits? Our white paper addresses that question, and others, so that health benefits brokers can better advise their clients.
- What are the risk-factors for CRC, and who is most at risk?
- Which screening methods are available to members?
- What are the financial implications of early detection?
- How can employers protect their people and their financial health?
