Early Detection Saves Lives
Colorectal cancer (CRC) s the number one cause of cancer deaths for people under 50. Late-stage diagnoses are terribly lethal, with a average survival rate of 14%. Early detection, however, increases that average survival rate to more than 90%. Since the early 2020s, the recommended starting age for CRC screenings has dropped from 50 to 45 for patients with no previous history of the disease, but is there a benefit to lowering the age further, or otherwise expanding CRC screening benefits? Our white paper addresses that question, and others, so that health benefits brokers can better advise their clients.
What are the risk-factors for CRC, and who is most at risk?
Which screening methods are available to members?
What are the financial implications of early detection?
